LOST IN SPACE

OK. I'm working on it... I'm trying both to revamp a public venue, and rearrange electrons calling it art.
It's gonna take a while.

blog challenged

Well I've not put a post here for so long that I'd forgotten to do so... HUH?

OK... STUDIO 802 has been busy. It's just not been being used as a public venue. I'm using it to make conceptual artistic manifestations that are being displayed in other venues. I could of double posted all the stuff from Atomic Elroy's Trinity Project but that is just not my style. If you clicky on the linky all will be revealed.

Hope to have our performance project up in a few months, and perhaps we'll premiere it at 802.

Now that thing have simmered down a bit I'm going to re-evaluate the web presence and will quit likely consolidate everything to theatomicelroy.com portal.

say cheese!

I'm currently working this project...

NAME CHANGE:
The new Title to this work is:

MARILYN MATRIX

a Video at CSFAC's Life as a Legend: Marilyn Monroe. May 3- July 5, 2008

For this video I've created a character named MM. Not actually a pastiche of Marilyn Monroe, but more of a re-imagining of her legend. a device to examine how Pop culture and it's legends have both expanded people's consciousness about how society and especially the ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY depicts, and treats women, and how it has also contracted that view into a narrow politically correct model. For seven of the works I'll use archive footage of Marilyn Monroe, that I'll remix, for the remaining work, I'll shoot video of an actress playing the role of MM. The work will deal with how The Legend of MM have changed our view of beauty and women. Also as usual I'll try to infuse elements of humor into the work to keep thing from getting too pedantic.

UPDATE:
I've removed the I Ching concept, as it was becoming too restrictive. I've added Text to the work. A childlike narrative of MM's legend that I have NO IDEA where I'll put.

In conjunction with the Visually Aesthetic Space program of the COS Downtown Partnership, Atomic Elroy has installed a video installation titled "I-25 Suite". The piece is a video triptych originally created for the Sangre de Christo Center in Pueblo CO. in 2003, however all three videos have never been shown together.
It has been installed in a storefront at 125 E. Bijou Colorado Springs, CO. and will remain viewable 24 hrs. a day until OCT 25, 2007.
